Discerning the Times: Tilling the Foundation of Our Soil

Many people feel their voice doesn’t matter. We have an obligation, responsibility and right to speak up when we experience or witness injustice, abuse or mistreatment in our homes, workplace, community or in the world. For far too long, people are silenced, shamed or bullied because of their opinions or beliefs. We should value other’s opinions whether we agree or not. You should, however, use wisdom and discernment to analyze and dissect data or any information you receive.

There’s always something to learn from someone’s point of view or perspective so you should not be so quick to shut them down.

An ignorant man does not take instruction from wise counsel. Prov 12:15

Let them alone; they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into a ditch. Matt 15:14

When you are silenced, your power is stripped away from you. You can no longer communicate or express your thoughts and feelings, exchange information or learn from others. The enemy understands the power of your voice because the Lord spoke the world into existence. [Gen 1]

Your words activate life or death. Whether written or verbal, there is weight in your words. You can transform a person by speaking negatively or positively. Be mindful of the words you speak to yourself and with others.

Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a foundation send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. James 3:10-12

We must also protect and secure our history, culture and identity as an individual, society and nation. We must ensure that our history isn’t stripped away whether it be good or bad. For whence a man does not understand his past, he no longer has the ability or knowledge to understand the present. He will not have the ability to understand the foundation or know his origin. He will not have the ability to glean from the lessons learned.

Dummying down or blinding the eyes of a society is dangerous and decreases the diligence, strength and power of a nation. We can’t afford to be silenced. We need to stand in unity for the common good over the tyranny and suppression that has taken over the culture. We can no longer afford to sit idle as a defenseless bystander. We are equip and more than capable to defeat the giants that continue to mock and taunt the foundation of our democracy and values.

May our eyes be open to the truth and may we have the wisdom to discern, question and analyze what we hear. Lastly, may our hands be used to plow the land, rebuild the foundation and repair the damage in harmony for the restoration of America.

The Ascension of Christ

The resurrection of Christ is the most miraculous experience seen by men. The sacrifice of the Lord is the provision made for mankind to be set free from the law of sin and death.

After Jesus was crucified, Mary Magadalene approached the sepulche and noticed the body of Jesus was gone, she wept until she saw two angels in white sitting where Jesus laid. She turned around but did not recognize Jesus until he spoke to her.

In John 20:15-17, it reads:“ Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher). Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.”

Why did Jesus refuse for Mary to touch or cling to him? For some reason I’ve been contemplating this intricate detail for the past few weeks. I reflected back to the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years. Jesus felt virtue leave his body after the woman touched the hem of his garment. It was by faith that made her whole.

Jesus did not allow Mary to touch him until after he ascended to the Father. When Jesus returned, he allowed Thomas, one of the disciples, to touch his wounded hands and his pierced side due to his lack of belief.

John 20:24

But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came.25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.

John 20:27-29

Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Unfortunately, our culture has more false prophets than we can count and misleading people by what they perceive in their own minds.

I have wondered deeply about the details of the specifics relating to faith and the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus returned later that evening and appeared to the disciples, he offered peace upon them and gave them the gift of the Holy Ghost.

This small section of scripture is such a powerful revelation of the testimony of Jesus and the operation of the Holy Ghost.

Unfortunately, the Body of Christ is not operating in complete faith and the full God-given authority to receive the miraculous gift of the Power of the Holy Spirit. There is no power in the midst of division, fear, doubt, or unbelief. The church has conformed to the standards of the world and at times does not look much different than the culture.

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. Zech 4:6

I definitely don’t have the answer on how to bring unity to the Body of Christ, however to access the power needed to do the greater miracles which Christ did, we must walk in one accord to embody the Power of the Holy Spirit. It is available to us. Touching Jesus through prayer, renewing our minds to align with Christ, cleaning up our lives, and stepping into our faith will access the power of the Holy Spirit to heal and restore our land.

You must believe Christ is the Son of the Living God and through believing you will have eternal life through His name.

When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? 46 And Jesus said Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. 43 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. 44 She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you.” 46 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.” 47 Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48 Then he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”

Happy New Year

post updated 12/31/20

This year has definitely pushed us out of our comfort zones. May we be graced to walk with humility, strength, courage, and faith to lean on each other in love with a better understanding of the differences and bridging humanity between other races, ethnicity and cultures, as well as release the pain of loss and resolve the complexities we are facing in the world today. Let us move forward with hope putting our trust in the Lord who proves to be faithful of his grace and mercy.

May you be filled with hope, courage, strength, and peace as we enter into a New Year.

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Mark 6:34
